Born Wild Horse Ministry

What we do

We take in untrained, neglected, and unwanted horses to work alongside local young people.

We currently care for six horses—Boaz, Caleb, Charlie, Naomi, Ruthie, and Maisie.

Some arrived as orphaned foals, others previously beaten, and some still bearing scars from wolf attacks.

The youth take full responsibility for daily care:

  • Carrying water and feeding

  • Tacking up and handling

  • Moving the horses between olive groves and mountain grazing

As confidence develops, they learn to ride, train, and handle the animals properly. They also help lead the horses into the local community, giving children and adults who have never encountered a horse used in this way the chance to sit in the saddle for the first time. It instils discipline, patience, and a genuine work ethic.

Out in the open field, gaining the trust of an untrained, fearful horse presents a clear picture of life before and after knowing Jesus. A horse running wild appears free, but is in fact entirely confined by fear and self-preservation. When it finally yields to a firm, gentle guide, true freedom begins.

In the same way, surrendering our lives to Christ does not diminish our freedom—it releases us from fear and opens up a life we never knew existed.

"What happens between a man and a wild horse tells a deeper story—one about trust, surrender, and the kind of love that doesn't force change, but leads you into it.” — Todd Pierce
